Look who turned 5 and 6!

March Madness

Check out some of the things we did during the month of March! We had such a great time learning the sounds of new letters. We were very busy beavers.

Look Who is 5!

Happy Birthday! The balloons were great!!!

Consistently Growing…

These past two weeks have been amazing! We met the letters Yy and Cc. We also discussed why our bodies need rest. Our visit to The Methodist Home was amazing. We had so much fun singing and talking with the residents there.

Look At Us Now!!!!

We have spent time in class getting to know each other even more. We learned how to greet our friends using the traditional handshake. We have been discussing descriptive words in text and what better book to use than Good Night Gorilla. Our Ll word list was so long. There are so many friends in our class with the letter Ll at the beginning of their name, not to mention within their names. We also met Mr. O and talked all about opposites.

We were very excited to work on our cards for our field trip to the Methodist Home. Our fine motor skills have been grown so much.

In math, we continue to graph objects and explain what the graphs are telling us. The kindergarten teachers showed us their funny hats for the 100th day of school. The following week we celebrated our 100th day of school.

For the Chinese New Year, we were shown some of the Chinese history.

We also had a blast with colorful balloons to celebrate someone turning 5! We are getting so old.

What’s new in the New Year??

The past two weeks have been FANTASTIC! We met a new letter friend, Ms. L, not to mention we asked even more questions! Our friends have been reading the morning message to us and we have even read our first book written by Mr. M. Last week, we read Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and discussed the setting to include the time and place. This past week, we read What the Sun Sees and were introduced to descriptive words in the text. We practiced our fine motor skills and even celebrated Australia Day with Max and his family.

In math, we have been working with graphs. We have become experts at identifying most and least, as well as being able to explain what the graph is telling us. We made necklaces using patterns and made our own snowmen puzzles.

We even had some visitors, students I taught 2 years ago who are now in 1st grade. They read our class a story! It was so much fun.

All About Questions

This week was all about QUESTIONS. We met Ms. W with her Wonderful Words. During literacy, we discussed problem and solution and setting in the text with books that we have previously read and new books about snow! During math, we spent the entire week graphing. We spent time in small groups practicing writing, counting, and making patterns.

Hello 2012!

This week we welcomed 2012 with a bang!

We met a new letter friend, Ms. S and we were too excited about writing the letter and creating out list of Ss words. We continued work on patterns ABAB, AABB, ABCABC. During morning meeting, we discussed the patterns we see everyday in our clothes, shoes, and things in the environment. Although we had almost two weeks off, we jumped right back into transitions with a bang.

Week 16: So fresh, so clean!

Check out our busy week in Pre-K. We were busy reading all about the Gingerbread Baby and his friends. We even took pictures for a special holiday bulletin board. During math, we graphed our first bite of a gingerbread cookie and Mr. C stopped by and participated. This week was one of the best.
